“But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live.” Ezekiel 18:21-22. When God forgives us of our sins He (forgets) them entirely, and puts them as far as the east is from the west, that is FAAAAAAR. “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12.
For me, when I realized what that meant, it really had me in awe of God. To know that as far as God is concerned whatever I did in my past is like it never happened because He forgot about it once He forgave me. (It never happened ever ever ever, in His eyes), A clean slate He gives us when He gives us His Spirit, renewed mind, and a new heart. God is so merciful. His will for us is so good, acceptable and perfect, if we repent of our sins and follow the Lord we won’t regret it when we realize all the benefits of God. “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:1-5 Glory to God.
Just as God has forgiven us we ought to forgive others. Forgiving and forgetting. It seems hard sometimes, or often, but it is possible if you’re in Christ, all things can be done through Christ (Philippians 4:13).
“Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32.
